November in a nutshell. I currently have four Fancy box subscriptions. With all the hustle and bustle of the holidays...I didn't get any of these up in a very timely manner...so here are all four in one post.
The Culinary Box this month was all about Thanksgiving. I'm not sure how often a lot of these items will get used though. I will for sure use the whisk, but beyond that I don't really know if the taste injector will ever get used. I'm going to go back to what I said a long time ago about this box. If you don't have much in your kitchen when it comes to gadgets, then this my friend is the box for you.
The November Nicky Hilton box threw me for a loop. It came the same day as my Culinary Box. I opened this one first and thought it was the Culinary Subscription. There are some fun things in here, but the Nicky Hilton boxes have become less and less appealing as time has gone on with this subscription.
This month's Rockettes's box is summed up in one word. Boo! I feel like it's a trip through their gift shop. Fancy has totally given up on including why items are selected for any of their subscription boxes, so I'm left wondering why I was given a package of business cards giving me the "opportunity" to draw my own pictures on before giving to someone. I honestly would cancel this subscription if it weren't so close to Christmas. I have high hopes for the Rockettes in December because that is their month to shine with all their emphasis on Christmas.
The only box that I was really excited for this month was the iJustine Box. The theme was video games and I got some really great things. I feel like because this box is still new, there is still hope for it. No promises though... I've gotten GamaGo tattoos before, and I always love the designs. I really like the "Gameboy" cell phone holder, even though it's too small for my phone. I'll be using it for something else for sure. The sunglasses don't work for me, since I wear glasses. They have already been gifted on to my brother and worn a lot. I also really like the throwback with the art she selected for her box this month. I like the funny spin on the Mario Bros. It has the look of the video game with just a hint of the very unsuccessful movie from their franchise. This is a great pick, and will be hung up for sure.
Tetris always has a special place in my heart. I'm really liking these cookie cutters. I can't wait for the craziness of the holidays to go by, so I can start baking things other than Christmas Trees and Gingerbread people. The sticky notes are pretty impractical, but I'm thinking that they will be a great size to use as bookmarks. I really like these offerings.
So, is it worth it... for the most part I'd say no. Each of these subscriptions are $39.00 plus shipping and handling. The only box that I liked this month was the iJustine box. Which basically means this month was a bust.
My New Year's Resolution was to try something new. That something new is subscription boxes. My slow-paced adventure of waiting for the mail to be delivered.

October Nicky Hilton Fancy Box Review
This is a box full of surprises! And, being a true Nicky Hilton Fancy Box there has to be a candle :)
The big ticket item is the hair straightener by eva.nyc. Fancy guarantees that you will receive at least $80 worth of merchandise in each Fancy Box. Nicky Hilton did it in one item this month. Not only is it a high price point item, but it also has a pretty dang spiffy design to it as well. I have never used a hair straightener before, but I have had them in my cart in various stores numerous times. I'm glad I held back and waited for Fancy to provide.
The remaining three items have a lower value, but that is to be expected when you get a high value item. The first is a cat ring from a shop on Etsy. I really like the design. I can't believe how often there are cat items in Nicky Hilton Fancy Boxes. If you like cats, subscribe to this box...enough said. There is also a ring holder shaped like to snuggling bunnies. This is awesome, because there have been two rings already, and this leads me to believe there may be more. And, there of course, is a candle. I feel like candles and cats are Nicky Hilton's trademark in these boxes.
So, was it worth it...INDEED! I have yet to be disappointed by her Fancy Box currations. This box has a value of a little over $112. Not bad considering it is a box that is $39 plus shipping. I feel like I will be really sad if this box ever comes to an end.

September Nicky Hilton Fancy Box
I am super impressed with these Nicky Hilton Fancy Boxes. I really hope this is a curator that keeps them coming. This month I am really pleased with the variety of items.
The item that caught me off guard with how much I really like them are the playing cards. I feel like a big 'ol bag of dork saying this, but they are really neat playing cards. They are continuing the lace theme and are see through with a lace print. Now I haven't played a game with them yet, so I don't know how distracting they could potentially be, but holding them in my had I'm really liking them.
I am also really excited by the nail wraps that came in this box. I really like nail wraps, but it seems like the same few designs are always at my local stores. I like that this one is something totally new. I really like the way the black lace design pops on the white backing. I feel like this might be something that I would continue to order online, should I be impressed with the length of their wear.
So, was it worth it...This box had a value of just over $89. I was expecting it to be a little higher because there were only four items included. I'm still really happy with this subscription though. Considering I pay about $45 a month. I got double what I paid for. I'm going to keep them coming, and I look forward to what next month Fancy and Nicky Hilton may bring to my mailbox :)
When I opened up the box and saw that there were only four items included, I knew that this meant that there was going to be a high value item in this box. I was surprised/disappointed when I began to pull things out, and I found the same purse that has followed me around Fancy. I have gotten this bag four times now. I'm still going to hold firm and say that this is a good assortment of items though. I have used and like the first puse I got. It's just another bag for my pass-along pile. I'm also really liking the Molskine notebook. I've seen them before, but never gotten one. I've always felt like I could get by on a cheaper notebook. This might convert me into classier stationary.

August Nicky Hilton Fancy Box
Nicky Hilton is impressing me with this month's Fancy Box. She curates a subscription box that is quirky enough to keep me subscribing. This month it is full of some random items that all seem to fit together rather well in my opinion. The value is also exceptional this month, but more about that later.
There is a definite cat theme to this month's box. From the kitten pouch, to the cat eye sunglasses, to the cat greeting card, it's all there. I have actually looked at purchasing the kitten pouch before. I told myself it was one of those things I shouldn't get because I have bags similar to it already. Well, problem solved. Fancy and Nicky Hilton helped bring it into my home. I wear glasses, so the only downside to this box is that the sunglasses will be passed on to someone else.
So, is it worth it... The price of the box with shipping is $44.95. This month the items in the box total $120! This is really generous considering they only promise you a value of $80 in the box. This subscription is FOR SURE going to continue to for me. I can't wait to see what comes in next month's box.

The book Paris versus New York is hilarious. I actually read the whole thing right after unpacking the contents of the Fancy box. Each two page spread contains two pictures and two words/phrases. The left side features something from France and the right side features New York's compliment. I really enjoyed the read.
My favorite item in the Fancy box is the Athena Wrap Around Ring. It is adjustable, so you can wear it on any finger. It comes sized so that it is a mid-finger ring. I'm starting to see rings pop up in jewelry departments like this, and it appears the fashion world is hoping it will be an upcoming trend. I really like it sized this way and will leave it. I'm really enjoying wearing it.

July Nicky Hilton Fancy Subscription Box
This box was an interesting one because I feel like I had preconceived notions about what Nicky Hilton might like solely based on my knowledge of her sister's public image. I honestly think that none of the items in here are what I would have expected to be in a Hilton subscription box.
That being said, I do know that everything in the box is something that I will use. The item that I really like is the Invisible Man journal. When I go to meetings, I prefer to take notes in bound books instead of spiral notebooks. The really neat thing is that instead of having printed lines to use as a guide while writing, the text of the classic novel is printed in tiny font to use as reference. I have honestly not seen anything like this before, and it's my style completely.
The other things in the box are things that are common and uncommon at the same time. For instance, the heart necklace by Lumo has a chain that is shorter than most, so the heart sits higher on your neck while wearing it. This will be great for higher cut necklines. The nail polish is also a really great color. It is a bright summer color without being obnoxious. Since the phone holder is made by Fred, the design is going to be functional and quirky in appearance.
So, is it worth it...Let's break down the items in this box by price to see if the box cost, $46.95 with shipping, is worth it.
Gardenia + Tuberose Candle ~ $10
Gold Heart Necklace by Fred ~ $35
Pumped Up Phone Stand by Fred ~ $10
Invisible Man Book Journal ~ $10
I Only Fly Private Nail Polish ~ $16
Grand Total for all the items ~ $81
The box promises that you will get over $80 worth of goods in the box. This they did deliver on fully. It will be interesting to see what is in the next box. Once again, building on my preconceived notions, I thought there might be a high end item with a few lower valued items. That wasn't the case with this box. I'm going to stick with it for another month/box to see what happens.
